First Europe-wide taxi app now available free of charge

 

Berlin – Europe’s largest taxi network is launching a joint free app with taxi.eu. More than 40,000 taxis can now be ordered at the push of a button in over 60 European cities. All you need to do is download a single app to your smartphone or tablet. Whether in Amsterdam, Berlin or Prague, the new app ensures a fast and secure taxi service.

“We want to pick up our customers where they are. This is not only meant literally, but also in a figurative sense. In addition to our telephone service, our app now also offers smartphone users easy access to our taxis throughout Europe,” says Hermann Waldner, founder of taxi.eu. “For example, if you want to find out about taxi prices at your destination before you travel, you can do so easily with our app.

The taxi app calculates fares and responds to individual customer requests such as credit card use, child seats, large-capacity taxis or English-speaking drivers. Even environmentally friendly “Eco-Taxis” can be ordered at no extra cost. taxi.eu is very customer-oriented. The passenger can give an evaluation after each journey and thus contributes to the permanent improvement of the system.

In addition to the automatic ordering procedure, taxis can also be requested traditionally by telephone. The taxi app automatically delivers the phone number of the taxi headquarters in 1,600 other cities and municipalities. Pressing the taxi button connects the customer directly to the appropriate headquarters.

The taxis are equipped with special devices from Austrosoft, which meet the security standard for continuous operation and can also charge credit cards, EC cards and cashless payment systems. A team of 35 programmers and technicians ensure permanent further development and support of the system.
